Some people think white can be boring, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. White is lovely and clean and besides my personal favorite color, it is flexible! In terms of food and parties, white dishes and serving pieces are so easy, and they let the food and decor take the stage (where they should be)!
But just because you have white dishes, they don’t have to be plain jane…
There are SO many options for white, in differing shades, textures and shapes. Affordable pieces and splurges. The options are endless!
With white dishes, you can bring in color in so many other ways. The amazing food you’ve been cooking (or the take-out too) will really standout on a blank canvas. Flowers on the table don’t compete with bright loud pottery. Linens really can make their mark – the list goes on!
But just because you have white plates, you don’t have to stay there. It makes it easy (and a lot less expensive) to change it up for seasons or holidays. A few accent plates and you have a whole new look. It is so simple with the great base.
White plates don’t just have to be casual – there are lots of versions that are a bit more fancy too. Have fun with it…

I agree! So glad I selected Philippe Deshoulieres “Blanc de blanc” for out everyday dishes about 25 years ago. It is an old Limoges pattern. Interestingly enough, in France it is now labeled “California.” Too funny!

I so agree! I have several different sets of white dishes. My friends tease me a bit about it, but I love them all.
